For Boneman…
A “Fobbit” is a term used for someone in Afghanistan or Iraq who spends their “combat” tour inside a Forward Operating Base or “FOB.” They earn the right to wear a combat patch as a result, even though they never go on missions and probably only go outside the wire to get a ride to wherever the nearest airfield is. Yes, sometimes they can be on a FOB that gets rocket or mortar attacks. Almost all of them do anyway. Should they be anywhere near one of those attacks, they will be very quick to ensure they also get their Combat Action Badge (CAB) which is what anyone who is not infantry or a medic earns for being involved in a firefight.
It’s kind of a simplified definition, but there you have it.
Yeah…I got the heads up from Jean, an absolute trooper of a point gal!
Way better than my second ex-wife, that’s for sure.
Now, that gal was a nurse. She liked her job, too. Worked in the circumcision ward.
Got to keep the tips.
“Now, dang it!” I said to her when i found two boxes of the things in her closet, “gal! You got to get rid of those!”
So, she took them to a taxidermist down the road a bit, and said, “Here. Make something. Anything. I’ll be back in a couple of weeks,”
and, sure enough, she went back after two weeks and he charged her three hundred dollars and tossed a wallet on the desk.
“WTF!?” she hollers, “THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR A WALLET!?”
He says, “yeah. And, it turns into a four piece luggage set …when you rub it,”
She paid her money, and our divorce was later that year.
hopefully this is the “laughing”blog I started.
Sometimes it takes the edge off of reality in a way other things can’t.
Just in case my tracking link doesn’t work, here’s one of the entries.
I also take suggestions for the posts.

My wife was hinting
about what she wanted
for our upcoming anniversary.
She said,….
”I want something shiny
that goes from 0 to 200 in about 3 seconds.”
So, I bought her a scale….
And then the fight started…
