In 3, 2, 1, Mark…

Just a good morning to all, today. Another good night sleeping since I can sleep with the windows open to let in the night chill. The lowest level of the cabin is always a little cooler than the rest of the house, and when the mountain traps in the cold air, well, it can make my guests a little uncomfortable, but for me, the chance to sleep comfortably when it’s about 50 degrees inside is heaven.

When I go away, and I am due to go away from the cabin again for a while, it’s always replenishing to come back here. I’ve lived here almost as long as any place I’ve lived in my entire life. Mom always liked trying new things. I wonder how much of that was also that we’d get a newly cleaned place if we moved. Nice aspect to a cabin: if it’s clean, people say it’s “so nice!.” If it’s a little dirty, people say it’s “so nice and rustic!” Y’all people with stick-built homes and drywall would flip out if someone called your place “rustic.”

Anyway, this blog started up three years ago today on a similar chilly morning, first posting some time that morning. Thank you, my friends, who’ve been with me since on this crazed journey and thank you to those who have wandered over.

Peace.

Congratulations and thank you for sharing. If i remember right, wasn’t this blog a birthday present? And if so… doesn’t that mean there is a birthday around here somewhere? Like, maybe… yesterday?!

I didn’t so much wander over as I was drawn in, over lettuce wraps at PF Changs. What *did* your fortune read again? I just remember laughing so hard that I couldn’t breathe.

Oh, and happy birthday. I wasn’t sure how up-to-date the Amazon list was so I hesitated to get you anything. But I do have something for you. I just need an address.
