Ready to loose a little faith in your Army?
Here I am, back at home after a few days of holiday madness. There is a message on my phone from someone working in an office to let me know to check my email. I should have scans of some official paperwork.
And there was. Paperwork dated 21 December, effective 12 December.
I officially swore into the military on 11 June of this year. As of 12 December, 6 months and 1 day later, I was promoted to E-6, Staff Sergeant.
I know it’s just a technicality assigned to me in part because I have received final acceptance into the Accelerated Officer’s Candidate School, but still… I’m a “sarge” for right now.
What fools they seem to be. It’s just me.
At this rate I expect to you to be a first star general in 18 months!
Congrats!!! What Journey said.
Actually I think you could probably get more done as a Sergeant Major rather than a regular old officer… but hey, I think you’ll get it done regardless. LOL. Congrats on the promotion.
Congrats! No surprise, but glad to see that those in control see what we do!
Congratulations! And does back-dating mean getting back-pay, too?
heh… I can totally see you being a Sarge. Totally.
Congratulations!
Contratulations! “What fools they seem to be. It’s just me.” That is a great line. I have felt that same way about myself.
congratulations, sarge *salute*
and if anything, this makes us have a little MORE faith in our military leaders…
hope your Christmas was peaceful and may your new year bring you all you hope and dream…
*hugs*
WOW! Congrats!
huzzah! well-deserved, and i expect more will be happening as time goes by. congrats, uncle; i’m very proud of you.
I liked being called Sarge. Enjoy it while you can, soon you’ll be saluting everyone.
What sucks is that we all have to stand at parade rest when we are talking to you now…
… E-6 in 6 months?….. good god….
