The road beckons. Time to travel. I had hoped to be able to enjoy another holiday in the cabin, but no one can come to me this year for various reasons, so I must go to them.
The Jeep is loaded down with essential gear, books, emergency equipment and medical gear, CamelBaks™ filled. Often during busy workweeks the Jeep is a scattered mess of papers, flyers and junk mail that I never quite bring into the house. But before a trip, everything is cleared, supplies and luggage organized in a clean, modular fashion. My environment has to have a sense of extreme order before I spend a great deal of time in it.
Internet service may be sporadic over the next several days which means posting will be even more so. Don’t worry. I’ll take pictures.
Until then, please enjoy your holidays (I’m specifically talking Christmas and Hanukah here) and please stay safe.

We get a lot of freshly minted 91-Whiskeys (Medics) through here. On maneuvers they like to ask me, the experienced one, what sort of bags they should get beyond the standard-issue CLS ones. They pay a lot of attention to what I say about different packs, but pay closest attention to what is on my back. Hello? Put something great on there and I’ll wear it everywhere. A certain other manufacturer has free lumbar advertising on me that has resulted in at least 25 sales about which I know.
Happy holidays to you, too. And I hope your trip is a safe one!
Be safe and let us know when you’re back! I still have to give you your Christmas present.
travel safe… and, Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas and safe travels. Hope you have a wonderful time!
