I mentioned this site in the comments of a previous post, but I thought I would share, considering there aren’t THAT many of us out there.
A group calling themselves “The Music Genome Project” has put together one of the more amazing music sites out there. Enter the name of an artist you like and [...]

… toss someone else’s stuff on up there to look at.
While I was on the cell phone with one vendor coordinating the installation for tomorrow, on the office phone waiting on hold to hear back from a sponsor, another of my young ones sent me this link, which popped up a funny little movie: [...]

Quick post… still alive. Still buried under conference planning. Things will clear up by Wednesday a little bit. Still miss you all.
In the meantime, while I haven’t had time to do any personal reading, I’d love to hear suggestions for music out there that I might like, especially if it is available via iTunes. [...]

Another twelve-hour day and it’s starting to get to me. Why put up with it? I’m going through another period in which I don’t see my house in daylight. As soon as I get home, I start something for supper then sit back down and work some more.
Tonight a call came from my bulldog, [...]

When you see me walking towards my office at a fast pace, bag of lunch in one hand, clip board and blue prints under my arm, phone up to my ear and I am talking hurriedly, it is NOT a good time to step in front of me and start the conversation with , “Hey, [...]

Remember a few months ago? A bunch of us bloggers were pushing y’all to donate to Project Valor IT. Voice controlled laptops for soldiers with arm and hand injuries. I donated. Many of you did as well.
Well I want to say thank you, again. I was telling one of my kids about them a [...]
Heat can destroy. It can also shape and create. Slightly increase the heat inside our bodies and the proteins that make us begin to break down. Greatly increase the heat on some ores and they, too, will break down. But blend the ores and take the heat to incendiary levels and you can craft some [...]

This morning I awoke to rain. I had decided to sleep in a little bit then try to sneak in some gym time and laboratory time. After getting ready and heading out the door, glass of water on the table so I wouldn’t make the same mistake of the other week, I started down the [...]

Sorry,
can’t resist. I’m not exactly a fan of Teddy Kennedy. I admire and read what I can about his brothers, but as I see in my everyday life, just because a person is a great man or woman, it does not mean his/her brothers are. Ask MaryJo Kopechne… oh wait, we can’t.
So… warning: [...]

That’s speed, friends. My geek managed to update some code and now the site is running at lightning speed. Even geeks have their own geeks.

… some people ignore me no matter what. While visiting my old college, I headed over to my former Residential College (most people call them dorms) and climbed the stairs to my old floor. Almost on the top of the last flight of steps, I instinctively raised my hand from the handrail. Old habits die [...]

You know that whole birthday extravaganza you want to pull off? Stop it. Stop making others do your work for you when you need to be making the effort.
In particular I am talking about the birthday song, or whatever birthday ditty the restaurant’s corporate offices put together for their wait staff to do for [...]

Shuffling sounds emminate from somewhere in the back. You can hear the footsteps of someone pacing, occassionally interrupted by silence and staccato keystokes.
Suddenly a cool fresh breeze slips by you and floods the room. A man’s voice from the back says something unintelligible. The footsteps start to get closer.
…fool goes away for three days [...]

… the scowl on the cashier’s face at Wendy’s as she stares at her array of pre-configured buttons when you ask, “Can I have the mandarin oranges instead of fries?”…
… meeting someone face-to-face after many months of only talking over video or a telephone and realizing you truly do love and respect the person, not [...]

Warning: personal entry.
The ghosts were there today. I stepped back on campus for the first time in almost 15 years. Luckily I was going to meet David. He is still a professor, though never one of mine, but I had assisted him once with research on a book. He was a guiding influence and a [...]
