Podcast Recommendations

There are thousands of podcasts out there, and I have been through a lot of them. Only a few of keep my attention. It’s a great way to relax at the end of a day with a laugh or some good music you’ve never heard before.
Podgy’s Tokyo Talk
Cool music, much of which I have ended up buying at the iTunes site. “Podgy” (not his real name) is a friend I’ve chatted with for a while. He also gives out some interesting news about life in Tokyo. Pet store vending machines… learn about these. Live pets in a vending machine. Crazy.
Tartan Podcast
Music from independent bands in Scotland. I’ve ended up buying music there as well and chatting with some of the bands. One of them sent me a copy of their first CD which they all signed as their first international sale. The Sleepy Sunday show is usually the best. It also reminds me that I wish I naturally had a Scottish accent. Those guys sound so cool.
Fox & The City
Ragan Fox… 100% comedy. Just be warned this is not for the easily offended. This flaming man has no sense of lines so it’s fair to say if you have one, he’ll cross it. He’s hopelessly liberal. It might take two or three episodes to get what he’s doing if he’s on one of his “character” casts rather than his regular commentary. Try episode 86, or 101 to start off. Seriously. You WILL be offended. I disagree with a number of his views, but he makes me laugh, especially when he is talking celebrity stuff and not politics. Enjoy it. The man is smart and knows what he is doing.
